Talkoohommien ilosta / Joy of volunteer work...

Harrastaminen vaatii välillä uhrauksia. Koska haluan harrastaa pk-lajeja ahkerasti Kaidan kanssa, seisoin tänään vapaaehtoisena useamman tunnin ulkona koirakentällä pk-kokeiden tottisosuudessa ihmisryhmässä :D Homma olisi ollut mukavaa, kun samalla sai hyvää oppia kävelykaavioista, eri luokkien liikkeistä yms, mutta kun kevätsää yllätti ja saimme niskaan kuuroittain tihkusadetta ja navakkaa tuulta koko päivän :O Tämän viikon tiistaina olin samoissa hommissa talkoolaisena BH-kokeessa, sillä kertaa kelit olivat sentään siedettävät. Mutta tulipahan kartutettua talkoopisteistä ja koirillakin oli jännä päivä kun otin ne koepaikalle mukaan autoon. Nuutti ja Kaida saivat ainakin kuunnella pyssyn pauketta, kun tottisosuuden aikana ammuttiin kaksi laukausta aina yhden koirakon aikana. Ilmeisesti kumpikaan ei ole pahemmin paukkuarka, kun iltapäivästä olivat molemmat edelleen järjissään autossa ;)

During this week I have been twice working as a volunteer in our Working Dog Society's trials. After working enough, I get later free dog courses for Kaida, so as a poor student I have strong motivation for volunteer work! It is also nice to get a change to see trials from close in field (while standing in human group while dogs are doing obedience tests), that is very instructive as sport is quite new for me. Volunteering is fun but today the weather was just awful as it was rain or gusts (or both of them at the same time) all day long :/ But at least the day was instructive for my dogs too! I had bring them with me to trial area and they waited in the car at the side of the field. As there was some gun shooting during tests, I could check if Nuutti or Kaida was afraid of shooting. Well, luckily they were not, they stayed calmly in our car through the day without panic ;)
